Hi my name is Sarah, If you have come across this webpage and reading this, thank you and welcome. As a child of the 1980’s and 90’s I spent many hours drawing, making and playing. My children were born in the early 2010 as tech became an increasingly ordinary part of play. I was fortunate to be a stay at home mother and although they had access to technology and movies they spent hours, drawing, marking and playing. Many science, art and cooking experiences happened in those early years of which over time I will share via article. I’m a very creative individual and have lots on these topics to help inspire and fell confident to have a try. As my children grew I studied early child hood education of which I began working at the centre my children where when the youngest transitioned to school. I am blessed I had this experience as again many moments of art was created, from play dough sculptures to stories using props and improv. Increasingly I notice screens are a replacement to art and craft, measuring and baking and minimising conversation. Lets use devices for enabling active tech, where action follows learning. And move away from mindless scrolling and valuable moments lost with our children. Remember the process is more important then the outcome.
